<p>@Erin’s dad: it’s the deal for all FYA students - if they complete the year abroad with their cohort and are in good standing (academically and disciplinary speaking) they are entitled to in-state tuition for the next 3 years.</p>
<p>What a cool program, small classes, good advising, chance to hone foreign language skills, except London, can switch location for the summer. What’s not to like? I think it is a great opportunity. You will be in a cohort with fellow FSU students to still be in contact when you all return. And you will meet people sophomore year in your dorm, classes, and especially when you get into your major you may also be making new friends who share interests. </p>
<p>My dd did study abroad, but only one semester and 3 weeks vacation and it was Sr year and no one from her college, so totally different but a great experience.</p>

FSU probably is helping with scholarhsips, but if you lose that scholarship as so many do. That will likely contribute to your going there longer and racking up even larger debt. Choose a school whose students graduate on time; many early and land great jobs and get into top graduate, medical and law schools.</p>
