You're all almost there.

Remember that in the grand scheme of things, tomorrow means NOTHING. Your acceptance, waitlist, or denial at your top choice means NOTHING. A lot of incredible people don't go to boarding school. In fact, statistically speaking, the VAST majority of amazing people don't! If you have the will to do great things with your life and at your school, you can - no matter where you are. School is entirely what you make of it - remember that, because it's important.

Be happy and know how fortunate you are if you receive an acceptance letter tomorrow. Be gracious to those on CC whose outcome is less fortunate. Don't post threads titled, "I'M IN!" Be a winner. Remember to give credit where credit it due; as Andover's admissions website urges, thank everyone who helped you to where you are. You didn't gain an acceptance by yourself. Be thankful to your teachers and those who wrote recommendations, and thank your parents especially. For most of you who attend prep school next year, you will never live with your family again.

If you receive a denial or waitlist, know that it's not a commentary on you as a person. Schools are LUDICROUSLY competitive these days, and top schools turn away VAST quantities of perfectly qualified and often overqualified applicants simply because there is not enough space to admit every talented applicant. Know that many of you, had you been able to apply ten years ago, would have sailed through the process. You are ALL talented people. Turn the energy you would have used at prep school into a force for good at your current schools, and whatever you do, don't feel downtrodden. Stay positive, work hard, and you will all feel the benefits.

Best of luck to all of you! I remember this night for me one year ago, and I didn't sleep a wink. I'm thinking about you all, wishing you the best.

Be well,
Do good.
