Staying for a 2 days?

I want to stay at Cornell on the 13th and 14th. But since the Red Carpet overnight thing doens't start until 5:00 pm, does that mean I can't actually stay in a room before 5:00pm on the 13th? And once I get the overnight hosting, can I stay in that room until 14th afternoon?

Depends on your host I guess… I’m hosting and we’re probably not obligated to let you guys stay, but if you’re not an ass I would be ok with it, personally. If someone signed up for hosting they’re probably inclined to be nice to you, so just don’t be annoying.

okie thanks.

Hello. I have recently been admitted to Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for the graduating class of 2015. I am thrilled, grateful, and excited about this amazing prospect. I would be honored to be a Cornell student. I would like to visit the campus before I make my final decision. I had thought that visiting the Cornell campus would be financially impossible for me, until very recently. Neither I, nor my family, can afford to pay for the necessary airfare and meals because my father is currently unemployed, and has been so for over a year. However, a few generous contacts have informed me that they will probably be able to assist me in my travel costs so that I can visit. I apologize for the late notice, but because I had thought a visit would not be possible I had hesitated to register for an overnight stay. However, now that it appears a visit may be plausible, I would like to know if I can stay overnight on the 14th and 15th of April. I have already contacted the Cornell Days office and they are almost certain that all the hosts are taken. Nevertheless, I am asking your office in case there is a possible opening. I already have directions and an itinerary planed out, so, I will not need much attention or accompaniment; I just need a place to stay the night.

I applied to Cornell knowing that it would provide me with the education and experience necessary for graduate school and my career as a marine biologist. I am especially interested because of its superior sustainability initiatives. I envision myself becoming a vital addition to this sustainability, using my energy and new perspectives to help students reach out to the community.

Therefore, please do respond to this message. I recognize that I am asking a lot by sending this request, and I completely understand if it is not possible for Cornell to provide an overnight arrangement so late-notice. I apologize for the lengthy message, and I thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

^ Glad to know that you found a way to attend, hopefully I’ll see you there.

What office? This College Confidential, it’s in no way associated with Cornell University. That message is better sent to Cornell admissions office. If they say they can’t have any more, then you probably can’t stay overnight. Maybe you can just go there for 1 day? Or live in a hotel? If you really want to, I bet you can find someone who’s willing to take you in his/her room underhandedly and unofficially (that’s what I’m hoping to do)
