Okay PSU Veteran Parents…Currently all emails get sent to my son. Is there a way to allow additional emails (parents emails) to receive this information as well? I get concerned that emails related to financial aid, payments, Next Steps, etc… Information that may need the parents assistance may not get relayed to us parents. Hope this question makes sense.
@off2co11ege , unfortunately (or not) he’s just going to have to take responsibility for notifying you of these important emails.–and deal with consequences when he doesn’t. As a student, he can go onto the portal and give you limited designated access, but that basically does nothing more than allow you to receive emails when a bill is posted to his account. Then you have the privilege of accessing and paying the bill. That’s it. There are FERPA regulations that prevent the college from having certain communications with parents. I’m very type A and it drove me nuts to hand that responsibility over to her, but other parents warned me that PSU is not the place for students who want or need hand-holding. So far, so good. Once she realized she HAD to stay on top of the details, everything worked out.
