hello from a current beloiter! i did two overnight stays before coming to beloit and they couldn’t be more different; one night it was very low key, just walking around campus and hanging out at c-haus, etc and the other one we went at 11 PM and stayed out till 3 AM… so it really depends on who you stay with and what you want to do. both times my hosts were very open to whatever i was interested in and really gave me an accurate view of what it’s like as a beloiter, and because the process for finding hosts is entirely volunteer based you probably won’t get stuck with someone who doesn’t care about making your stay as great as possible :)

keep in mind, though, that it’ll be a sunday night and those can be pretty dead around here (for obvious reasons). but if the weathers nice you’ll probably see people playing ultimate frisbee and having dance parties outside till late at night to celebrate the good weather!

thanks a ton! i take it your visits were awesome. what should i bring? do i need bedding? i forgot to ask those sorts of questions when my counselor called me hahaha.

Hey!

I’ll be staying overnight as well! I was told to bring bedding and a towel.

Ohwow out til 3? Geez! I hope that I don’t stay out that late on Sunday! D : > I’ll barely be able to get up in the morning! Then again I’ve always been pretty tame.

Looking forward to Open House!!!

My D stayed two nights back in January. She forgot a towel. Her host offered to lend one, but my D didn’t want to impose. Someone from admissions gave her a ride to a store to buy one. D was impressed by the friendly and helpful students and staff.

aha i think that visit was more the exception than the rule i brought a sleeping bag, pillow, and a towel, plus toiletries and a book- you might have some free time between tours/classes. i found it really helpful to get a better feel for the campus by plopping down in front of mayer or chapin, reading a book, and people watching.
