Funny, I just wrote a newspaper article about that. The editors seemed to enjoy it, too. :)

Are you the person formerly known as Samanthalynn? Your location is almost the same.
And naturally, anything titillating is always fun to read; sex sells very well inside a high school.

Yes, that's me. That was my name and is my actual name. Now I go by the name of a...well, nevermind. :)

I was hoping the topic would get people to read it - not a lot of people seem that into the school newspaper. But it hasn't even come out yet.

Few usually are, partially because they are too absorbed in their own matters. In my school people only read the good sections of the paper, including the quotes and comics, but never the articles, because some are not well-written or produced and as such students pass over them. As a result some of the editors are trying to figure out what to do and how to increase circulation.

A bit late to the debate on the word "homosexual"--there's a difference between using it as an adjective and as a noun, as with "gay." I've been told that "gays" is more offensive than "gay people," and would assume that the same holds generally.

(On a related note, "Indian" works in a similar way--it can be offensive as a noun for a member of a Native American tribe, but as an adjective almost exclusively refers to India.)
