So I hear students from both schools attend the same class.... right? Whats the difference then?? Does a Econ major from Stern get a different degree than a CAS Econ major??

Same department, same classes, same profs.

The degrees the students will get will be from the their individual schools. Also note that while CAS has many econ. only majors, most Stern econ. majors have econ. as their second major after finance. I don't think I ever met a Sternie who did only econ (though I'm sure it's happened, but it's rare).

There have been several discussions on this topic, a bit of board searching should answer most of your questions. :)

My reason for choosing CAS econ: I wanted to double major or at least get a minor in Computer Science, and because the CompSci dept. is with CAS and you can't double major between schools, I chose CAS.
