Steve Jobs :(

Apple - Remembering Steve Jobs

It’s a sad day. This guy played an integral role in my love for technology, and human advancement from a larger standpoint. It might sound crazy, but Steve Jobs, his history, dictums, and legacy were a key factor in my desire to break boundaries & establish myself as well as I could, and my desire to “reach for the stars.” He’ll be missed.

RIP. :frowning:
It was naive of me to view him as so immortal.

the day after iPhone4s too… maybe this is why they prostponed iPhone5?

RIP Steve Jobs.

Is this because of me? I created a thread like hours before his death bashing Apple :(

But i love their products though RIP

No, probably not why they postponed it.

I didn’t know about this until I signed on to CC, and now I’m actually crying a little bit. Guess I’m not doing much studying tonight :[RIP Mr. Steve Jobs

[Bill Gates on Steve Jobs, Who Died Wednesday - Digits - WSJ](<a href=“Bill Gates on Steve Jobs, Who Died Wednesday - WSJ”>Bill Gates on Steve Jobs, Who Died Wednesday - WSJ)

When I read this I started crying.

you CRIED?

I reprimanded myself for even considering to care.

My entire life is Apple, he did so much.

Okay I get the whole its sad he died but I HATE it when people start acting completely different once someone dies. Either you liked, hated, or didn’t even care about the person when they were alive that shouldn’t change when they die (esp when you don’t even know the person personally)

iDead! 10char

Zombie–I understand your point but even though I never knew him personally, even if I didn’t agree with everything he did, I have to mourn someone who really positively impacted our way of life in a very large way.

People are going deaf using iPods. People are getting in car accidents while texting in iPhones. People are wasting time playing games on iPads. People who make iPods, iPhones, and iPads are committing suicide because of the miserable working conditions.

Positive impact?

-Steve Jobs

RIP

Although I dislike the guy, I can’t deny his brilliance. RIP

Wow you’re ignorant and arrogant, IceQube. That’s not the device, it’s the people, and I have a feeling you’re no smarter than the people who play music at defeaning volumes or of people who are texting while driving. I typed this on my iPad; am I wasting my time? I think not. Get a hold of yourself mate.

I don’t think this guy was a genius, i think he was a brilliant marketeer.

Before he made iPods, mp3s already existed.
Before he made iPhones, Nokia touch screen phones already existed
Before he made the iPad, Microsoft released the mstablet a year before.

The difference between Apple and all those other companies is that Apple is so much more user-friendly, making millions of people pay a lot of money for their overpriced product. For this, i consider him a marketing genius.

yep i agree with buried on that one…
People choose their actions, yet blame it on others, typical human behavior.
We’re given products, but it’s up to us how we use it.

For example, if you are speeding at 40-50 MPH in a 25 MPH zone and a cop gives you a ticket, you can’t blame it on 1) the car for going too fast, 2) the cop for being their, 3) the law, or 4) [if you have a toyota] “unintended speeding”
It’s clearly your fault for not following the rules of the road.

Likewise, you can’t blame these devices for how people misuse them. If people misuse them, it’s the fault of the people not the device.

I won’t say that they are 100% positive to society, as seriously what gives the 100%… i have always understood why tech is making society go “backwards” and that is another discussion, but the end thing is, the iPad, iPod, and iPhone-- these are serious impacts on the technological world. If it weren’t for these ideas and strictness from Jobs, our tech marketplace would not have grown as much. Jobs was a brilliant marketer. He convinced people to buy something that was overpriced, that wasn’t top of the line tech [in cases of MacBooks and the computer line], and came up with new innovations. He was a genius at marketing [lol rokr said what i wanted to say, lolz]

I’m not too sure about the history of Apple, INC. but i believe that Apple grew after Jobs came back and im assuming that Jobs was the reason why Apple is rated No. 1 in Customer Support and Customer Satisfaction.

On a side note, i have never understood the “R.I.P” i mean i get that it is “Rest in Peace” a truly beloved saying, but using the word “rip” just doesn’t sound as beautiful.

Steve Jobs, as I am a Vaishnav and a believer of reincarnation, i truly hope you get another chance in the human birth and can escape from this horrible cycle of birth, death, old age, and disease. Hare Krishna :)
