Rice's interim decision date is fast approaching, as it's supposed to be the 10th. I found out Monday morning that my guidance office wasnt sending grades until early NEXT week, (the 5th, 6th, 7th, etc.) and a friend of mine and I were very concerned about our Rice applications. So we went to the guidance office and asked if we could mail them ourselves next day air or pay $15 to have them sent next day air, and they told us they will go out next week no exceptions. So the secretary in my guidance office, who definitely knows what she is doing and is usually helpful completely rejected us.

Next, we went to our guidance counselor, and she told us she would "take care of it and make sure they get there on time". Concerned, after school I called Rice and they said broad statements such as "we would prefer them to come as soon as possible, there is no absolute last date, but decisions are made by the 10th and students will receive them in the coming week or so after that". I severely doubt that anything will change with the date the grades will be sent out because my guidance counselor told us after school that they have never had an issue before with it and that other schools end later, so don't worry, but I cannot help myself.

Will they just wait a couple extra days to decide if the grades have not arrived yet? I don't really understand why they cant send out the reports next day, and there arent too many people who it matters if their semester grades arrive any time before March 1st anyways, but this seems rediculous. What will Rice do if our stuff does not arrive on time for decisions.
