I still have not received word regarding an interview request from Princeton yet and I am getting increasingly paranoid that I let something slip through my spam or trash filter on my email even though I check all sections of my inbox daily. I live in the SF Bay Area/Silicon Valley so I highly doubt there is a problem with alumni availability. I haven’t even received the 'You will be contacted by [interviewer name and email] soon" email. At what point should I contact the admissions office?
If you have not received an e-mail from Princeton advising of a forthcoming offer to interview and have checked your spam/trash folders, it’s almost certain you have not missed anything. Being in a region where there are presumably many potential interviewers does not necessarily mean you are more likely to get an interview. Interviewers in your area may be unavailable or unwilling to conduct interviews. There may also be an exceptionally high number of applicants from your area. Interviews are not granted on the basis of strength of applications so try not to read too much into it. You could contact admissions any time to make sure you have not missed anything if it puts your mind at ease.
I got contacted for my interview yesterday. My attitude is don’t sweat it.
