Still no personal contact from Brandeis

OK, I have to say that I have found Brandeis’s lack of contact with admitted students puzzling. My D was accepted Blue Ribbon, and, except for a couple of VERY impersonal mass-produced postcards, has heard nothing from Brandeis. No phone calls from students, no e-mails, no letters, no invitations to admitted students’ websites, nothing. Silence. The other schools she has been accepted to (Yale and U Mich) thus far have called more than once, e-mailed frequently, and sent letters…all making her feel very wanted. Brandeis was VERY high on her list. Maybe too high. It is not there any longer.

it is nice to feel wanted. i would urge you and your daughter to not confuse how an admissions office may or may not behave with how the school would be once your daughter was there. what the admissions office is or is not doing with respect to admitted students bears little relationship to what a student's experience is likely to be ike once there. i'm not saying what they are doing is "right" -- just that it is not the best basis for judging what your daughter's 4 years there would be like.

I've had one contact with the school - a student called the other day and we talked for a bit. Other than that, only the postcards and emails about scheduled chats.

Weird. No info about an admitted students site. No e-mails about scheduled chats. No phone calls. It's like they really didn't mean to accept her after all or she's not worth their effort.

You must not be on their e-mail list. We have been receiving e-mail notice of chats plus financial aid explanations and general updates. You might want to contact the admissions office and ask them to make sure you get on their list.

i'm sorry you weren't receiving information. www.brandeis.edu/admisisons/accepeted is the site you want to be on. Unfortunately, you missed an on-line chat; it was yesterday. don't worry, there will be more.
