Hi everyone,
I’m an uprising senior in high school and i still dont know what path to choose, i’ve gone from engineering to medicine and medicine to political sciences. Knowing myself im not that great at math, so i crossed engineering off my list. I know theres so many branches to choose from but i just don’t find myself as an engineer, same with medicine. As much as i love to help people and put others first i also dont see myself as a doctor or nurse or any other position in that field. So i’ve came to political science. I’ve always been interested in politics but still unsure whether or not to continue this path.
Another question that i have is that do international relation jobs require a lot of travel?
Sorry for the lack of knowledge.
I’m just lost >.<
I would imagine in international relations you might need to travel.
I think you need to first focus on a field of study that you really are interested in then explore the jobs you can do with that major. Think about what you are really drawn to and find that you naturally are good at. Being not good at math indicates you perhaps would be interested in something that involve social science; psych, sociology, public health, business, art, communications even law.
There is an older book called “What color is your parachute” don’t know if there is a more modern book but you might try reading through it to get a sense of where you want to be when your graduate college.

Your high school probably has access to a computer program that matches your skills and wants to careers that you may want to explore. Ask your guidance counselor.
Political science is my favorite topic! It’s a highly diverse major that trains you to do nothing except how to think critically. With a polisci degree, you can do a wide variety of things, such as work on campaigns, join the state department, go to law school, become a management consultant, or even go into data analysis and business analysis.
For a high school student, I would focus on identifying your interests more than your career path. For the longest time I thought I wanted to be a lawyer (and by that I mean from the time I was 12)… I took the LSAT before my senior year and, after seeing my score, realized that I didn’t actually care about going to law school. So I became a consultant… we BS more than lawyers do and get paid almost as well
