Still Waiting....Waitlist...

Just so that you don't get your hopes up, my neighbor heard by telephone call, a message left saying their was a very important call from admissions at npva...when his GC tried to call back the next day since he was in the middle of an AP exam, admissions said they could only speak to him directly....
also, check out the thread that alleges last years freshman class was made up of 36.9 % WL candidates.....

hey everyone,

i'm a current student at villanova and a tour guide, and i'm gonna tell you what you might not want to hear. last year villanova did not even touch their waitlist, and this year i doubt they will either. every year the competition gets tougher and tougher, and for the past 2 years villanova has been over-enrolled, leading to housing issues. more people that get in are going to villanova now than they were a few years ago. because of the housing issues at the school now, they must make huge cuts and i doubt they will want to invite more kids. although this is good for the school, it sucks for kids who really would do well here. know that you will find your place no matter where you get in, each place is special in its own way.

good luck,
nova student and blue key member

Last year the school (Villanova) did not touch its waitlist???

Au contraire, unless all the guides lie!

Villanova has already accepted people off its waitlist for this year.

Villanova Does NOT Use its Waitlist. There is no need.

What do you mean they do not use their wait list???

You are misinformed...I know several kids off WL this year and many from last year...

Do your research...

And don't forget, they offered my D1 a "summer wait list status" this year!!

In the past two years 8 people have come off the waitlist. What a summer waitlist means is that if the transfer students that they offer admission to decline she may be accepted. GL.

As I mentioned before, two people from my daughter's high school got off the waitlist in May 2006. They both accepted. I can assume that they must have taken more off the waitlist, if two were taken off from the same school.

I do not know why your being so defensive of you point of view, but I work in the admissions office and only 8 have been taken off the waitlist in two years.

I guess if they have only taken 8 off the waitlist in two years - I just don't understand why they would bother with this Summer Waitlist - it just doesn't make sense!

Seems like just about every "second tier" school on the east coast got slammed this year with apps - and Nova is the only place where I got waitlisted - but from listening to friends waitlisted at other similarly competitive schools - the other schools have not perpetuated this sham.

Nova should be ashamed of itself for letting people think they have a chance if there really isn't one. Seems to be a real ethical lapse on Nova's part.
