Hey i just got my housing info and I have a double in Davis Hall. I know that it has a killer dining hall but I was wondering what the rooms, and general atmosphere is like. Also how social is it relative to the other dorms?

Oh and to fellow '12ers wondering how I got my info so early, a girl found out how to get roommate and housing info from the Wellesley portal. She posted the steps on the facebook group :)

OOooh she did? I am definitely going to look that up. Thanks for the tip!!

Awww I can't figure it out!! I don't think mine is up yet.

Me thinks that Wellesley figured out that we figured out about the roomie info...perhaps they saw this CC post...

yeah there's mayhem all over the facebook group wall. It seems that people have not been able to get the info since late last night. Our cover is blown! lol

they might be updating it though, bc there were some girls who only had their roommate info and not their housing so there's still hope!

I might be in Stone-Davis! My roommate says we are, but no residence shows up on my page. The school must love how everyone finds ways to get around the system.

We didn't find any of this out until midJuly.

Then again there was no such thing as the portal back then.

Uhhhh seems that Wellesley found out and took away our access to the information. :(

*Some students have located preliminary information on an otherwise inactive portlet that gives access to roommate assignments. Please note that this information should not be considered accurate, and student access to this portlet has been blocked until roommate assignments are complete. If you identified roommate information in this way, please know that the assignments have not been finalized, and therefore they are not reliable.

Thanks for your understanding. We will be in touch later this summer with further -- and more complete -- roommate information.

Best regards,

Lori Tenser, Dean of First-Year Students*

aaaand....

The roommate portlet was mistakenly made available to students before housing and roommate assignments have been finalized. There is no connection to sending your roommate matching form late. The Housing Office will be finalizing hall, room and roommate assignments next week. This information will be sent to you via e-mail to your FirstClass account.

ahh I just read that on a thread! That would be hearbreaking for them to change people's housing and roommate info just when we were getting settled into them

...but could previous students still give me insight on Stone-Davis anyways? lol. Any sort of floor plans would be unreal :)

I'm in Davis 145! Does anyone know anything about that room? Size/view/etc? Floorplan? Or anything more about Stone-D would be great! I'm so excited!

145 is a corner room in Davis. It's next to the RA's room and looks out onto the courtyard. There are lots of first year rooms on the hall. You're right next to some stairs and close to the bathroom.

Those of us with the real First Class program on our computers (sophomores and up- not the MyWellesley portal) can access all the floor plans. They did get leaked on facebook last year but they were taken down so, sorry, but I won't post them.

Most first year rooms are the same. They're generally smaller than sophomore doubles and tend to look out onto the dumpster side of buildings. There are usually lots of firsties together on a hallway and all of those rooms are pretty much the same.

If you're just dying to know more I could look up your floor for you but it's really not a big deal unless you're in Sev, Tower, or Claf where the rooms tend to have odd shapes and can vary a lot in size.

I'm in Stone! According to the floor plan, my room looks pretty big (it's a double). Woohoo! LonelyFishBowl, you've probably already found the Facebook groups for Stone and Davis, they have the floor plans on there.

"I know that it has a killer dining hall but I was wondering what the rooms, and general atmosphere is like."

I had a tiny, tiny room for my first year in this dorm. The rooms are carpeted, and if you're in a double you'll probably have to bunk your beds. The dorm has a very strong sense of community. Now I'm not sure if that was because of the high number of first years there or just that I was excited for my first year in college. Either way, I had great memories. I just finished my second year of college, and living in Stone-D was a lot more fun than living in Lake House (first years can't live in this dorm though). Just my view.

I'm on the first floor of Stone. Does each person get a desk? How big are the closets? Does each room have a mirror?

Sorry for these picky questions. :] My roomie and I are trying to coordinate what to bring.

^^Each person at Wellesley gets their own desk & chair (and bed) (and someplace to store their clothes). Not sure about Stone-D particulars with regards to closet size.

I had a walk-in closet with my roommate. It was good space. You also have room to store stuff under your bunk bed. We were lucky to also have a full-length mirror. Not sure if all the rooms had this.
