Don't ask where to buy bedding or storage stuff- You have heard of walmart/bed bath and beyond before, right? Or at least GOOGLE?

Don't ask if girls/boys of one race like your race (even though I do understand the reasons people are wondering this, as I have done so myself)-Because it all really comes down to personal preference, and we all should know this.

Don't ask "will my stuff get stolen?"-Because it will if you are stupid and do stupid things, such as leaving your door unlocked, or leaving clothes in the dryer for 2 hours.

Don't ask "Will I have to drink?/Does Everyone Drink?"-The answer to both is no. Nobody will force you to chug that beer, and not everyone else does it too. College is NOT a movie, even though I'm convinced some of you think it is.

Now please stop being an idiot, because I cringe the majority of the time I click on this page, and that's sad, because I thought alot of you were smart kids.

I agree.
I'm also starting to feel like people on this board only spend time on this board. Come on y'all, are you that worried about your social life or are you so worried that you're not going to make friends or find signifcant others that you have to ask how to be social? Maybe some of you should go out and try socializing for once, unlike in high school when you didn't.

So true. I wish someone would initiate something interesting and worthwhile. People keep rehashing the same pointless topics, over and over again.

gemstar, you know what you need to put in that?

If I get **** drunk with alcohol, will it cure the common cold?

GlitterHairDye, I was hoping this board would provide a break of the immaturity from the College Cafe. The judgement is still in the bag ... but it sure is looking bleak.

Or, we could just choose not to read these threads...?

My pet peeve?
Those among us who still don't know the difference between your and you're ( or their and they're and there, or its and it's). Also... "alot" is actually "a lot." Ahem. Dos palabras.

Do any of you here feel that while there is indeed a plethora of smart students from across the States, the maturity of most of them feel exactly like idiotic middle-schoolers?

mercury, I wish it was. I figured those who made it far enough to college had to have made it somehow without brawn.

I think the stupid questions stem from anxiety we're having about all the changes and stress we freshmen will face when we arrive on campus. You'll notice that the majority of the people here are incoming freshmen. We just want some reassurance that we won't end up back at home in a month with our lives having fallen apart. But anxiety and worry really doesn't excuse stupid topics like "fold or scrunch?". I'll never get over that one because it doesn't have **** to do with college!
But I, too, am joining the movement for everyone coming to this board with some degree of maturity and common sense.

And Tufts- Yes. This goes for life beyond CC. I go to a very good school. Every single day I come across someone and all I can think is HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE. Not just immature, but plain old dumb.

Apparently just because you're a math/science/english/whatever genius doesn't ensure that you'll be able to figure out how to function in daily life.

/And really. I get the anxiety. I promise. What kills me are the repeat threads, often when previous threads of the same topic are STILL ON THE FIRST (or second) page. Like, at least read around a little before you ask where you can buy some shampoo or something. It's most likely already been answered. 10 times.
