Stop worrying everybody, you have great chances

One more thing. Stop posting in Romanian! We break the rules.

yes, quite encouraging, but not when you have a low SAT score like myself.

hey! it’s a gr8 post.

Earlier I was one of the guys who asked others to ‘chance me’. But, dude, I agree whole heartedly with you. No one knows whether you’ll be accepted or not. If u don;'t apply u have 0% chance to get enrolled but if you apply u at least have some chance.

There are only 2 approaches: either u apply or not. There’s no approach anywhere in middle.

And another thing…U should only worry when u have choices or if u can change something. (then you’d have to think and plan) If u can’t do anything then just relax. The same is here. Have fun! Enjoy next 2 months. We have done our part. Let adcoms do theirs.

By the way, best of luck to all intl stds.

great post. we need mroe people like you

Yes Indeed

Couldn’t agree with you more Cosmin, I have the same attitude towards the subject.

I have to agree with everyone above. This is the warmest post I’ve ever read on this board!

Thank you, Cosmin!!! :)

me: rain on party.

I HIGHLY doubt anyone has great chances at great schools. Universities only post their acceptance, not their rejection rate. Tells the same thing, but the attitudes are different.

Harvard’s acceptance rate this year is a predicted 7%. When we look at it, we think, “oh, i’ll be in that 7%, no problems.” Now think of Harvard as a school with a rejection rate of 93%. Now what do we think?

I’m not saying that all schools are hard to get into. It’s just that people must face reality instead of listening to encouragement about how great their 3.9 GPA is.

Nice thread to cheer up the wait…Hope you all get in your choice of college..:)..

very very encouraging…thanx a lot Cosmin, although we dont speak the same native language, but your attitude has been undoubtedly bright and it has cheered me up alot

best regards to everyone here! good luck!

Actually, I think nobody believes “oh, i’ll be in that 7%, no problems.” – if people were this confident, why would there be so many “chance me!” threads? People realize how hard it is to get into Harvard and the other elite schools, for the most part. Yes, some are a bit deluded and would benefit from a dose of reality, but for most, reassurance is very welcome.

Thanks cosmin!

Hey amb3r, you’re going to Yale right? (if I remember right from threads of the past)

aisgzdavinci, i think you didn’t understand my post at all. I tried to show everybody that there are a lot of people with much lower stats that apply just to make them realise that the chance me threads are not realistic.
I don’t believe that if somebody got a bad response on such a thread he would not apply to that college but this negative response would make him even more nervous and we need all need to be calm and positive during and after we send our applications.
I don’t think you’re positive you’ll get into all of the schools to which you applied so you too should know that a little encouragement is always a good thing.

^ sorry, just pessimistic at that time that’s all.

There’s no need to apologize:P.

best of luck everyone.

btw, i don’t always apologize at everything

How many more days until decisions?

cosmin, nice post. i too have the exact sentiments. in addition, when people post their stats and do “chance me” post, it seems to be quite pointless because it doesnt matter AT ALL what the ppl in CC thinks. everybody may say that you’ll get in but if the admission office doesnt like you, what is the point right? great post anyway!

The decisions are usually mailed on the first of april but there are some colleges that mail them a little earlier. So let’s say less than two months.
