Evasmom, I could not be happier for you and your wonderful daughter! What great news today! :)

YAY evasmom and Eva!!!! We are SOOOOOO happy for you!!!!

I agree totally, evasmom, congratulate her (and you)for us!

Ah....all you guys have been on CC so long and having followed your kids, it is so exciting to hear of these happy outcomes. Yay Evasmom's daughter! Enjoy....

Oh Eva's mom, it's such good news! I am so happy for you. Will everyone keep their fingers crossed for me? I feel like my D is the only one w/o and acceptance. It doesn't deflate my happiness for everyone else, but I wish we were celebrating too!
Tashmu and Evasmom, I'm going to have one of those martinis for you tonight!
K

Finger toes and lots of prayers coming your way ...

Sarahsmom - you are not alone, just brave enough to post. Many schools haven't told people yet. Hoping for positive things for your D.

No phone call, probably means a rejection. I haven't told her yet. It's been a really aweful day. My brother called to say that my Dad is in the hospital. Why me?

Well, it may mean a rejection - but it may not. I know of at least 3 schools this year that have let kids know in a variety of ways. I know of kids who received their acceptance news through email, phone call, and letter - from the same places. There is no apparent rhyme or reason to who got which (although, presumably, all will get the actual snail mail in time). I think that may be a downside of CC - people assume that if they hear that someone got their news via one method, it automatically means they are doomed if they haven't heard, and that really isn't the case.

I don't understand the logic, if there is one -- I know that some schools send out rejections first, some send acceptances first -- and, maybe the schools aren't caught up to the internet age enough to realize that students are comparing notes about who heard what/how/when.

Sometimes, the difference in the timing has to do with paperwork from the school admissions instead of the department - MT may have to wait for that approval, and it could be something silly that is delaying it.

I know the waiting is interminable, but try not to assume the worst.

Thanks. It'll all work out. Even if she doesn't get in to MT, she has been accepted to several schools and can take other paths. We'll see.

hey! hang in there sarahsmom....i know your daughter is talented and special and will have a bright future ahead....

congrats to EVA, too! thats really great!
hang in there everybody!

Amy

Thanks Amy! I'll tell Eva.

I felt everything you guys are feeling just a few days ago... so things can change with one trip to the mailbox. It's just the knowing that there is at least one option that helps. Remember there are still lots of schools that haven't even sent out their notices.

You guys are right, stress relief comes quickly with an acceptance envelope. My daughter got her first acceptance yesterday, USC School of Theatre. We don't know yet if it is for BFA or BA. She has many schools still to hear from, but we were all soooooo stressed when there were no options. Now we are so happy. Don't know if this qualifies as an acceptance on the MT thread or not? So Sarahsmom, your D has choices?

accept,

She's been accepted academically to five schools, but only one has open auditions for their plays. She has no idea what she'd study if it were not MT or music, but she has done very well in school and I'm sure she'll figure it out. Many kids go undecided to school, she can take some gen ed.s and try some new things. Who knows, she's been so focused on this stuff for years, she probably has other talents that she doesn't even know about!

Sarahsmom...We are all rooting for your daughter and hoping great news come in the next few days! :)

Accept....Of course that qualifies as an acceptance! Will be posted asap!!
Congratulations! :D

Thanks very much CA Griffin, we'll raise the roof if she gets in!

I'm off to the dreaded gym, wish some of you could join me!

That is my stress relief everyday! Have a great workout, Sarahsmom!!! :D

oh the gym! i miss going there...but at this point, im too broke to afford membership!!

the only stress relief for me at this point, is distractions!! well, I wanted to share that I just got a part in a summer production of "Hello, Dolly!" And I'm going to be playing Minnie Faye. I'm really excited, and very happy....hopefully I'll get good news from colleges soon, and be on some sort of good luck streak!! Here's hoping!!
