Strobel Honors Accounting Program??

How well recognized is the Strobel Honors Accounting Program? I recently got accepted into Depaul, followed by this letter telling me I can go into Strobel H Accounting. My first choice major was Finance but is this a big honor to get? How many people get this? Any stats?

bump .

I visited DePaul last week and asked about this same thing to students who were in it already.

They said that if your looking to do Accounting as a major then you would be stupid not to do it. I guess corporations in Chicago really like it and it’s really well known in the Chicago area; as is most of the business school.

I don’t want to major in Accounting but rather real estate. But I was thinking of possibly doing a double major with Accounting as my second. So I could be more “flexible” in the job market. But I’m not really sure.

So, if you want to be an Accounting major, DO IT!!! But if not, think really hard about it…

I just got a letter in the mail today about the Strobel Honors Accounting Program. From what I read, it looks a like a huge honor and many employers compete for Strobel graduates. I, too am going to major in finance, but am looking at accounting as my second major.

“graduates have continued their education in the graduate and professional schools of Duke, Columbia, Harvard, Northwestern University, University of Chicago and University of Pennsylvania.”

I’m not majoring in Accounting but I accepted :B

I believe you have to take accounting courses to be considered a Strobel Honors Graduate. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to major in accounting to get that label, but it would be beneficial since you will need those accounting courses anyways.

Well I’m going to study music/performing arts business so it makes sense (:

I respect the fact that Strobel Graduates are highly regarded in Chicago. Knowing that I’ll have multiple job offers upon graduation has me giddy!!
