Hello, this is my first time posting on the VA and Film thread but I thought it might be helpful. I have read alot of these threads and usually "hang out" in the theatre thread section.
I have a daughter who is a junior in high school and we are currently starting the college search and were amazed that most of the colleges emphasize theatre acting not TV/Film acting.

My daughter although not against the stage prefers acting for TV and Film and also is very much interested in voiceover. It seems that most of the colleges only have classes for acting on camera in the senior year. Most of the comments we have received are that the training is similiar and that learning what she will in college in the area of theatre will work out fine for her.

I did mention and could be wrong (I am not an expert) that I see alot of film/tv actors do stage work but very few stage actors going over into TV/Film, and that is why I am lost on why there are not more programs with the TV/Film acting focus.

I am aware that Chapman has a BFA in screenacting (through Dodge) and as of Fall 2014 you will be able to enter right into this program through an audition process. Comments on this program would be appreciated.

We are starting to look into the best film programs to see if they have an acting component in hopes that some of the programs will be looking for actors within. Of course some of the schools I saw mentioned on here as very good film schools, do not have an acting component.

Does anyone on the thread know of, attend, or have any experience with a program that has more courses available for acting for TV/Film?

Thanks in advance.
