Strong majors?

Do we have current students in Mac? I'm doing college research and I'm interested in Mac. But my classmate told me Mac is strong on STEM field instead of humanities studies. I dun know the reality so I hope someone can answer my question. Thx

PS: Feel free to help me with my grammar

Macalester is a small liberal arts college - which includes the humanities. A wonderful new arts building is nearing completion on campus. Check out majors offered at Macalester here: [Academics - Macalester College](Academics - Macalester College). It’s strengths as a school are small class sizes, a pleasant urban location, and an on-going commitment to international studies. There are many strong departments. Which fields are you particularly interested in?

I’d rather choose to be undecided, but largely I would major at history or poli sci, stuff like that. I am also interested in psychology. Do u know how good Mac is in these subjects?Thx

Macalester provides an excellent foundation in the liberal arts. Students there must take a broad range of courses and double majoring (sometimes in very different fields) is common. Macalester students are bright and passionate about learning so there are many conversations about diverse subjects going on outside the classroom. The political science and history departments are very good. I think the psych department is excellent as well, but don’t have first hand knowledge about it. For a small college, Macalester offers some interesting majors and concentrations including neuroscience, urban planning, and global health. I encourage you to visit the college. If you can’t, at least study the website - it includes a lot of good information about the school.
