<p>Yeah you're right ..the doctors I know all work in the ER..so that's probably where I got the idea.</p>
<p>I know you can major in any subject as a pre-med but eventually you have to take the MCATs which require a background in Bio, Chem, Physics ...especially Bio. Cell Biology and Molecular Biology are helpful. So, I will go out on a limb and say that the best pre-med schools are the best bio, chem, and physics schools. Here is a (long) list:
