STS (Science, Tech, Society) vs Bioengineering Admission?

For an Asian male, would it be easier be admitted to Stanford applying to the STS program instead of the over-saturated bio-engineering program? The essays would be tuned, of course.

You aren’t applying for a particular program - you’re applying for admission. It’s been awhile since my ds applied, but when he did, he was only asked to indicate three “areas of interest” on his application.

But for an Asian male, would applying to Science, Technology, and Society and tuning the essays to an STS approach make it easier for admission? Or would it not make a difference?

Apply to whichever you like more. Your areas of interest won’t affect your admission
