Stuck between two colleges-- Central Michigan University and Grand Valley State University.

I got admitted and toured both CMU and GVSU, and I loved them. Now I’m trying to make a decision, and I’m struggling to decide which one I should go to. If you had a choice, which one would you choose?

I personally prefer Grand Valley, but Central Michigan has a slight edge academically. Even though Central is a notorious party school, its 4 year graduation rate is higher than Grand Valley’s, and is typically ranked higher by superficial ranking services. To be honest, the two schools are so similar in merit that you could really go either way here. If it were me, I’d pick Grand Valley, but I’m partial to it because so many of my friends go there. I know people at Central as well, but they don’t seem to be having as positive of an experience as the students at Grand Valley. Wherever you end up, you’ll be in good hands as long as you work hard. Best wishes.

Thank you! After a lot of thinking, I agree with you. I decided to go to Grand Valley.

Congratulations, I’m so happy for you! I know you’ll be very happy at Grand Valley. Again, congrats on making such a crucial decision! Wish I could say the same, haha. Still working on that.

Thank you. And I’m sure you’ll figure it out!

I think you made the right choice, Grand Valley is an up and coming university where thing are growing and building, Nothing against central its a good school but Grand Valley has so much it can offer and only time will tell how far GVSU will keep growing, expanding and improving. I dont see central changing its reputation, size, or campus in the coming years and I cant say the same about GV.
