RE: Congrats jcollins! You’ll be saying go blue soon enough, a game or two at the big house should do it.

Until Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin come to town

I am a life-long Iowa Hawkeye fan myself but my son will be enrolling at Michigan this fall and can’t wait to make the visits to Ann Arbor this fall

Austin is one of the best college towns, better than Ann Arbor IMO. Also, what’s not to like about Texas, low cost of living, zero state income tax, 3 cold days in a year. For 1 MM you can buy a palace down there for a house. Sounds better than the state I am in right now…and a lot of other states…

I took a quick campus tour around UT when I went to Austin for job interviews, and the campus is nice. I do have to say that it seems Michigan’s EECS department has a better facility though.
Austin seems to be a nice city (Sixth Street!), it was like going to a bigger version of Ann Arbor.
And compared to Ann Arbor, it is jamming with tech companies (as someone in the previous post said, it’s the next Silicon Valley, or “Silicon Hill” as some say). I also heard that UT is a fun school.

and finally, Hawkeyes hate us and think we’re a*****es? why hate? I thought they were friendly folk.
