I live in Georgia and I’ve had my heart set on ASU for a while but this out of state tuition is making my decision hard.

These are the other colleges I’m debating on other than ASU: Georgia State University, University of West Georgia, and Morgan State University

I’m just so confused right now, because ever since I visited ASU I’ve loved everything about it. I just don’t want to be one of those students that end up in debt way over their head.

Wow - we’re from GA and my son is stuck between in-state and ASU too. We loved everything about ASU, he’d be at Barrett which is a special and unique experience, but the additional cost over 4 years would be about $70,000. I think he’s likely to wind up in the UGA Honors program.

ASU is a great bargain for many out of state applicants, but much less so for Georgia applicants who qualify for the HOPE grant. It’s hard to compete with free tuition. And the $ saved could fund a graduate degree or provide a financial nest egg during the start of a career.
