We visited Bowdoin early this spring, but were only able to stay a short time, so didn’t have time to meet students and/or ask questions. Have read a few comments elsewhere by people who felt it was somewhat preppy and jockish – something that turned us off at a couple other schools. Would you say Bowdoin students are generally friendly (regardless of background)? What sorts of activities do students take part in during the long winter months? Also, do most students manage the academics with a reasonable amount of work or find it prohibitive?
Sorry for so many different questions, but any input would be welcome - Thanks-

I find the folks largely friendly, College Democrats (and the republicans) are active all winter long :-p And I think it's reasonable.

Sorry for the boring, simple, short, uninformative answers...

Short, but still helpful. Thanks

I have always been told that the students at Bowdoin are boring and nerdy, is this true? Are the girls at Bowdoin attractive?

yes. we are all boring. and nerdy. and ugly.

Are you serious?

absolutely and completely.

(yes, I'm kidding)

So Bowdoin students are interesting, cool and beautiful?

like a benetton ad..

Not as much as Middlebury - home of the beautiful people.

uh a benetton ad? that would mean that bowdoin is extremely diverse....

relative to the rest of maine, it is. relative to new york city...not so much.
