Student Life in NYU London

I might be considering taking the Core Program in Liberal Studies at the NYU Campus. I want to know how is the student life there, what are the pros/cons of the dorm/dining... And anything else that might be interesting. Thanks!!

I’m interested in this as well :)

Yes can someone answer this? This will significantly help me consider my decision.

I studied abroad in NYU London last semester, and I absolutely loved it. It was the best semester I’ve had in college so far (I’m a sophomore).

London is just an amazing city, some would say even better than New York. One of the really great things is that the drinking age in London is 18, so you can get into any bars or clubs, so the nightlife is great.

I also think it’s easier to connect to people because the campus and classes are so small, it’s almost like a small liberal arts college.

The classes are great, professors are (mostly) great, and the housing is waaaay better than nyu dorms in nyc. If you live in Nido, you’ll get a chance to connect to people from other universities who are studying in london, but the other two NYU dorms are pretty good as well. (Can’t speak for byron court, as I only went there once, but Guildford is nice and spacious. They even come and clean your room once a week. For FREE!)

Being in London, you can travel to Europe easily as well. Your Fall break will be as long as a spring break usually is, and I travelled to Dublin, Istanbul, Paris and Manchester over the course of 10 days.

^
That sounds awesome!
Do you know anyone who went to NYU Paris though? I think I’m actually going to pick that :P

Sounds great! Do you have opinions on which dorm to choose or the pros/cons of each of the dorms? Do you know the approx population of NYU Londoners?

Anymore highlights/benefits of going to NYU London? What about the cons? I would like to hear both sides. thanks!

Only go to Nido if you get a single. A Nido single is only around $700 more expensive than a shared Guildford or Byron with 4 people. Nido doubles, are absolutely terrible. Extremely small, so you have absolutely no personal space.

Cons I would say are -

 1. London is really expensive. If you think NYC is expensive, wait till you get to London.

2) Some of the security guards at Guildford are kinda strict, making up their own rules which aren’t in the NYU handbook they give you.

3) One semester was too short!

How much do they fit in a room? 2? What is a good dorm with a single roommate?
