Student loans that don't accrue interest during graduate school?

Is there such thing?

Is there a loan in which students can take out x amount for undergraduate school, have the interest accrue during undergrad, but then stop during grad school? Or is there no such thing? I was wondering if there was an undergraduate private loan which I could get that has a low fixed interest rate (with a credit-worthy co-signer, of course), and would not accrue interest while I would be in grad school (which I would not be taking out more loans for, assuming I had a fellowship).

If you have a fellowship for graduate school, do you receive a stipend in which you would pay for living expenses/ pay off student loans? Or is it possible to have a job during graduate school in order to cover these additional expenses?

How do people go straight to graduate school after accruing debt in undergraduate school? Do most people who have debt from undergraduate school take a few years off of school to work off the debt before applying to grad school? How would that effect the chances of someone receiving a fellowship?

Thanks!

There are no subsidized private loans. You may be able to defer the payments while you’re in school but it would be a very good idea to at least pay the interest on them. Many grad students work part-time or have a fellowship that pays a stipend. Some grad students have employers that reimburse them for their coursework. You should probably talk to an advisor at your school or intended school about this, or find programs on the websites and see what they have to say about funding.
