Student-Professor relationships

bluealien01 -- I hear ya. (But for the purposes of this discussion, I think it's easier to argue against it. As for your last post, 6th grade?!)

Mary Kay Leatourneau (sp?) is who I meant.

I guess I'm in a strange relationship. Yes, I do have a professor who likes me. I've taken three classes with him and he had no problems flirting blatantly in front of me. He used to call me "Miss/Dr. (my last name)" and always greeted me outside of class whether to make me laugh or smile. But at the same time, we "flirted" in an intellectual way. We always talked about school, my research work and what interests me. I've sent him articles or journals that I thought would be helpful or interesting to have a conversation during his office hours. I was probably one of his favorite students (and yes I am good-looking and he's single). But is it a relationship in a sexual way? No. He knows better not to step across the boundaries. The best medium was for me to visit his office hours occassionally. I would tell him my progress, preparation for grad school and other important topics. He appreciates that. And we can still sustain our friendship in a positive way.
