From your experience, in the winter or on days where there was pouring rain did you find the walk between dorms and academic buildings too spread out?

My son HATES rainy days there but it’s certainly doable. He just makes sure to always carry an umbrella. Snow is much more fun for them.

KCOHIO, we took a second look at this school and it was a beautiful sunny day. As we walked from dorms to the rest of the campus I could not help but think that it must be a miserable walk when there is ice rain, pouring rain, or a lot of fresh snow!

Another thing that reinforced my thoughts about that daily trek is that the tour guide told us that she had to promise her father that she would not go back to her dorm room between classes because he felt that she would not go to next class if she did that!

This is not the only campus that has this walk between dorms and classes/library/dining hall, but I do feel that for a small school the dorms and the rest of campus are further apart than average.

Does your son find himself avoiding going to places that he should go to on miserable days?

I don’t think he avoids things but to be fair, he is an over-achiever:) Actually it isn’t that far and most kids spend a lot of the day in between dorms & academic side–the student center & library are both in the middle.

Really, hmmm. I remember the library and the student center as being very close to the academic buildings, but I do remember passing the student center before getting to the other buildings. Perhaps my memory is a bit distorted. I do think that walking back and forth between dorm and academic buildings would be a big waste of time on this campus, and a miserable thing to have to do during bad weather. Oh, well, I am sure everyone survives!
