How bad are my chances of getting a season pass freshman year?

also i have a younger brother who is 16 (and looks young)
is it possible to buy him a ticket in the student section and bring him to a game, even thought it's pretty obvious he's not a student??

All you need to do to get season tickets for football is to sign up for them and pay when the e-mail comes out.

You should be able to buy a second student ticket for your brother from a friend who wants to sell (unless it is for Notre Dame or Ohio State where the tickets are hard to come by) but without an M Card there is a validation upcharge on the student ticket (I think it is $42).

If the game is an unpopular game (such as Akron) it would probably be cheaper to buy an extra ticket off the street or on Stubhub.

Students are guaranteed tickets, even freshman. Just pay attention to the deadline. You will not be able to buy tickets for non-students directly. Honestly, buy the cheapest tickets off the street or stubhub for your sibling and have him get there early, enter into the correct section, then walk across to the student area. If u buy section 33-34 this will be easy. There will be space, especially near the top. The validation crap is not worth it for Akron unless you like throwing $ away, in which case there are always students who can’t make the game u can buy from.

oh thank you, that’s a really good idea.

so how do the student tickets work? like do we buy them in a certain section or is it like you show up for the game and start filling in the seats?

Incoming freshman will get an email with a date when they can purchase tickets…it’s late this spring or it might even be in early June. Anyway, once you get the email, just follow the links and buy tickets. Freshmen have the worst (farthest away) seats, but no one sits in a specific seat. You just go to the games and stay in your general section, with the other freshman.

However as res ipsa said, ND Ohio and Nebraska will be more in demand, so you want to get those early, even start looking now for ND. That students don’t stay to their assigned seats is why this method will work.

How much are season tickets?

This year, it was $215 for the tickets + application fee + student t-shirt.

They will be more next year because there is a seventh home game.
