Studentsreview.com on Marshall

I recently came upon the Studentsreview.com's student comments/ratings for Marshall and found them very worrisome. Do any current Marshall students have anything to say about the ratings/comments?

Wow, that really is disturbing. After reading so many consistently negative reviews I'm actually contemplating changing my major.

I wouldn't wholly base my decisions on ratings. From what I've seen in that website, about 160 people reviewed the entire school. Are you going to base your decisions on such an amount? I'm not sure how legit those reviews are on that website either. I suggest you do more research yourself and perhaps even visit the school and talk with Marshall representatives or the students themselves. I found one of the reasons Marshall is ranked relatively lower in BusinessWeek or USNews is the Marshall Curve (which was recently just raised to your benefit). I've talked to several Marshall students myself, and I've asked them the same questions you are asking now. From what I've learned, Marshall is a great place to go for business. And remember that for your undergrad years, its what you make out of your college experiences and opportunities that matter the most.

honestly Studentsreview is a terrible site. i know for a fact if you put this thread in the main Search and Selection forum, the general consensus would be the same, if not worse and less polite.

any site where a controversial unaccredited school with only 5,000 students (Pensacola Christian College) has the most reviews by more than the next 6 or 7 combined cannot be trusted.

god, the comments under 'educational quality' are REALLY disturbing

True, but what's most disturbing is how few of those bad reviews are written by people who actually attended USC.

Also, check out some other schools on that site as well. USC's "educational quality" grade is B, which is rather disappointing until one finds that Harvard's grade in that category is also a B. Apparently, USC is in good company then :)

remember that anyone can edit that site. therefore, people might not necessarily be truthful in reviewing the site @ an SC student.
for all you know...they could be a bruin.

The website is an outlet for people that dislike USC for whatever reason (oftentimes people who don't even attend USC!) to vent their anger. I wouldn't put much stock in it.

i'd stick to professional sources such as literature, not shady websites like studentsreview.com

fwiw, my s#1 graduated in 2006 from Marshall and says he received an EXCELLENT education. He won out over several other highly qualified candidates for a job with a financial investment company in LA. His two peers at work are from Berkeley and UCLA. He talked my s#2 into attending Marshall in the fall.

you can't go by everything.. if i went by the reviews on studentsreview.. I might be attending BOB JONES UNIVERSITY.
