studio art at NU

is it possible to do?
I am torn between art school (RISD) and NU for film & animation.
I love the academics at NU, but I'm a little worried that I will never have the opportunity to draw or paint again if I decide to go to NU.
so, how are the art classes/opportunities for studio art at NU?

I know a studio art (art theory and practice) major who is fairly pleased with it, but generally, it doesn’t hold a candle to RISD. If you’re really serious about art, you should go to RISD. If you can’t commit to being an artist (and all that entails- trust me, my sister has a BFA from Wash. U. and she works retail), then come to NU, and you’ll have opportunities to paint and draw if want them.

cherrycrush! my God, i was so torn with the same problem you had. film or art. but i ended up choosing NU over other schools with better art, b/c i realized it’s easy to do art on your own while harder to do film on your own (due to resources, etc.). The studio art here is quite unnoticeable, but it still exists, and a smaller department can mean more personal attention.
but man, if ur between RISD and NU, tough decision!! Good luck :)
