Hello… my daughter is a sophomore MT and is extremely interested in the study abroad program for junior year. She is focusing on Moscow. I would love any input, insight or general information out there, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I can’t give you specific feedback but will say that one of my daughter’s closest friends for many years who went to Michigan for MT did the Moscow program and loved it. He is from the class of 2009 and is about to be on Broadway in fact. :)

Thank you for your positve input. She has been talking to a past student as well who is about to be Boq on Broadway, may be the same student? She is very excited about Moscow and I am supportive, I would just like to have more concrete info than I am getting from my daughter, lol. Her instructors are very supportive of her studying abroad as well. Thank you for responding, here as well as on other threads, you truly are amazing in your support and information that you share with all of us. Thank you. :)

This is the same young man, who my daughter has been close with for many years. He is very talented and they did shows together for many summers and have been pals ever since. She spent several vacations at his home in FL. I believe he saw my D’s solo show last night in NYC in fact. He was just Boq on the National Tour for a long time and is about to debut on Bdway in the same role (replacing another friend of my D’s who was her classmate in Tisch/CAP21 in the role).

In my opinion, getting a first hand account from someone who did the program is about as good as it gets (and he is very reliable in this way and he is a very bright person to boot). As far as more information, perhaps you can obtain it directly from the program itself. I don’t know if anyone on this forum attended, but I think the information you got from this former student would be very reliable and valid. In any case, studying abroad is a very cool experience and one of my D’s did it (not in Moscow) and is abroad (not studying) as I write this.

Thank you, all that information does help. I planned on talking to someone at UMich regarding the study abroad program, was just hoping there was a parent or student on the forum with some personal info. Thank you again.
