Greetings! I will be starting college in August at the Ohio State University (so excited!) and I am very interested in studying abroad. I plan to study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the University of Belgrano during college, and I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not OSU allows freshman to study abroad. I am going to major in Political Science and Spanish, and I know that studying abroad will greatly help me! I’ve already taken a Spanish III Scholarship class my Junior year, and I am going to take the AP Spanish Language test very soon. Thanks!
I’m not in college yet but I know people generally don’t study abroad till junior year(some late so honored year or early senior year). Some schools may not let you study abroad until you have a certain amount of credits… I also would not recommend studying abroad freshman year so that you can make more friends and get more involved. It would be better to take the year and get to know college life and your university… I could be completely wrong but studying abroad as a freshman doesn’t seem to make much sense. Also, college Spanish will likely prepare you better for studying abroad than high school Spanish.
