Could anyone with a child at Miami U. tell me more about funding study abroad semesters? My one worry about sending my child to a public university is that these programs often seem to tack on additional fees. Not just airfare, but “study abroad” fees. All of this is a bit silly given that European universities cost so much less than American ones. In addition, the winter and summer programs that Miami U. has charge more to Out-of-Staters than In-Staters. Any thoughts? Cost is definitely an issue for our family.
If a student is in honors he/she can apply for a tuition waiver for a Summer program. My FD just got hers. She got out of state surcharge waived as well as half of the regular tuition. Still costly but makes it much more doable. Still have to pay for housing and transportation.
@gpo613 This is great to know - thanks!!
