Study Abroad in Britain

I'm a 2nd year about to apply to study abroad programs, and I was wondering if any people that attended the British programs (Cambridge, LSE) have any insight into the application process?

I'm especially interested in LSE for studying econ, but also heard that the program is extremely competitive. Since my transcript would only reflect my grades up to fall quarter, I will not have a very high GPA by the time I apply- around a 3.6. I have no idea if this indicates I would have low chance of getting in, so would appreciate any feedback from past participants/prospective applicants.

(I know that the best way to find out is to apply and wait till decisions come out in the spring, but I would really like to get a clear grasp of my chances because I would need to plan ahead for completing core requirements etc.)

Thank you!

Lol what I hear is that it’s easy to get into LSE as a foreign exchange student. Cambridge and Oxford, though, are difficult.

The LSE general course essentially only requires you ton be on track for general honors. One thing to check out though is that they will let you enroll in the courses you want. Wisc and Osap are the ways most us students from elite schools attend Oxford either as an associate or visiting student. Since tutorials at Oxford are student defined to a degree, you can pretty much study anything. Cambridge spots are very hard to come by as Chicago is not on of the partner schools for study abroad. Oxford also does not require a full year commitment versus LSE.
