I would love to study abroad because I love foreign culture and travel, but I'm really put off by the cost. Not sure if I should just skip the study abroad, at least for a year or two, and travel on my own. Is there a really compelling reason study abroad is worth all that extra cost over traveling independently and doing my own research? How much will I be missing out on? And if anyone thinks they have actually gotten MORE out of independent travel than study abroad and has done both I also want to hear from you.
