Hi, i'm planning to take SAT chem on May,
and currently i'm taking AP chem at school.
So basically i need to study for both AP and SAT Chem.
For AP Chem exam in May, i'm going to study
AP Barrons book.
Would this prepare for my SAT chem too?
Is it that i need to study SAT II Barrons book too?
Are they different or something?

i did sat 2 chemistry in may and ap chemistry in may too...the exams were like 4 or so days apart. i studied during spring break...and every day until the exams and i did well.

i suggest that you get both the sat 2 chemistry and the ap book. while some of the concepts overlap...the formatting of the test and style is quite different.

i used princeton review...and i found it to be very very good (for both sat 2 and ap).

you can take the sat 2 in june...that works too...i feel like its dragging chemistry out for another month....something i didn't want to do (cuz i don't enjoy chemistry)

Some people have no problems taking a lot of tests within a short timeframe. For others, spreading them out makes more sense. My daughter struggled with the AP-SAT combination, especially as she had several other tough APs to get through. She has a serious visual disability that made it worse so maybe she isn't a good example, but, looking back, taking them a few days apart was not a good thing for her and she wishes she had taken the SAT II in June.

You know yourself. Do what seems right for you.

ok so i luv how on this thread every1 is saying get both books and on saewhan07's other thread 'bout this same topic almost everyone is saying just get the AP test prep booklet. My personal opinion: hey two books can't hurt you, it can only help you; like most ppl have said here the format of each test is distinctly different which probably means that you want both books, but if you HAVE TO choose one (i dunno why you would have to, but if you do) then I'd go with the AP cause that one should be able to cover the same, if not more info on SAT II Chem test. Anyways, good luck on studying and on both tests!!!

I'm using Princeton Review for AP chem, and Barron's for the SAT II... but considering I've barely looked at either one, I have no idea how good they are :P

I'm also deciding when to take the SAT II... right now I'm thinking of June.
