Study Notebooks and other misc school supplies

What kind of school supplies do you use for college? Which ones help the most?

Also, do you have a separate notebook for study notes than class notes? If so, are they both the same kind of notebooks/spiral books or not. What do you use if they are different? Do you type your study notes?

There isnt a required type of notebook for college… use whatever you want to take notes. It makes no difference.

If you are living on campus, make sure you pack:

–stapler
–scissors
–paperclips

You can use any kind of notebook. I think my kids use a one subject spiral and a folder for each class.

You just finished 12 years of school, so by now you should know what you like to take notes on and how you enjoy organizing your papers. Buy those supplies.

You should see what you use around the house and pack them (stapler, paperclips, post it notes, tape, ruler, etc.)

Glue
Crayons
Scissors

and not just any ordinary glue, but… CRAZY GLUE

should i be ashamed that i picked up a box of crayola crayons for 25c?

They’d be good for color-coding things, like highlighters, except not so glaringly bright, and in more colors.

Yes, very.

Okay, I was tempted to do the same. I love crayons.

What I’m bringing: a composition book per class, folder per class, one big binder (can switch out papers or combine them), lots of pencils/pens/highlighters. Need to get scissors/paperclips/staples/tape, but my mom wouldn’t let me buy them because she says they’re pointless. :stuck_out_tongue: Yay for shopping on campus!

Questions like these make me wonder how some of you even got into college.

I have notebooks for every class to take notes. I have one homework folder that has my stuff for homework and I have binders for each class to put my work in after I am done to use fo midterms or finals. You should know what you like to use by now thou:)

I’m using a folder and notebook for each class. No binders since I hate them. The only time I ever used them in HS was when they were required by the teacher and part of our grade.

if you’re buying crayons get the kind with the built in sharpener. it saves so much time.
/sarcasm

Haha I was just curious on what everyone’s using. To be honest, I never took notes outside of class in High School and under (well besides class notes). I never found the need but in college, it’s different. I need to write out my own notes but I’m undecided between a marble notebook and a spiral. I’ll probably go with the spiral though because they’re on sale now =P

I can’t believe some of you use crayons haha. I’ve rotten rid of them :P

I prefer a multi-subject notebook with pockets. I’m not a fan of carrying a bunch of individual notebooks around. I’d rather just carry one and have everything in it.

Evernote + Binders when I need to print something out.

last year i just bought a notebook (not binder) for each class. i’m inherently unorganized, though. if i were capable of keeping an organized binder, i would go that route instead. stray papers etc probably wouldn’t get lost then xD

whats wrong with the crayons?

i was always so jealous of the kids with the built in sharpener!

I have a notebook for each class. I don’t have a separate study notebook. I can’t stand a floppy notebook so I have these Mead Cambridge notebooks I get from Sam’s Club. They are kind of expensive, but totally worth it. It has a heavy cardboard backing (about 1/8" thick) that keeps it from bending.

I actually have a LiveScribe Smart Pen but I rarely use it because the notebooks that it uses are floppy.

Every semester I try to be more organized but it usually only last a couple of weeks. This semester I am going to try out the ZUCA document organizers and get one for each class. They look like they can hold my textbook and notebook plus some other stuff for each class (and it fits in my ZUCA so that is a big plus).

I use mechanical pencils with .9 mm lead. I’m heavy handed and I can’t stand writing with a dull pencil, so they are perfect. They almost never break, unlike the .5 and .7 mm ones that break every time I try to write with them.

I rarely use highlighters, probably because I don’t usually read my textbooks.
