studying for the ACT .i need a new strategy ?

so i have been studying for the ACT for the past month and i am making improvements but very LITTLE improvements for instance i started with a 23 in English i went up to a 26 then a 27 then a 28 then back to a 27. In math i started with a 24 then when down to a 23 and now i am at a 25. my test is on September 30 and i really want to get a 29+ but i only have a month left !!!! so my question is should i take a bunch of practice test and just go over the questions i get wrong(which is what i have been doing) OR stop timing myself and actually learn the material and not take too many practice test ? what strategy worked for you please help

I am against lots of practice tests. They are not useful for improving your score. They only check to see what your score is, and to make sure you are applying the right strategies under timed conditions. I suggest you focus on doing problems, and redoing the ones you get wrong every few days until you can get them right on your own. Do just one more full practice test under timed conditions about a week before the test.

I agree. It’s really important to learn the process of “fully understanding the problems” without the pressure of time. Take some time to just solve problems as slowly as you need to in order to ensure you learn how to really process the ACT. Later, you can add hte time restraints again, but by then, you will be used to the “deep thinking” you aquired earlier.

thank you …i need more insight…somebody,anybody ?
