Studying for the SATs?

Hi,

How many practice exams are you doing?
how are you studying for it if not purely doing prac exams?
How many weeks before are you starting studying?
How many hours per week?

Just curious about when to start for the June SATs.

Thanksss

I got a 1910 in January and I’m hoping to break 2100 next week; I won’t be able to take it my senior year because I’ll be studying abroad.

I’ve only taken one full practice exam (all 10 sections) but every night I do a few sections to gauge how I’m doing and to get more practice. Practice is essential. Normally I do a little over an hour a night, and more like 2 hours on weekdays. I’ve been practicing since the beginning of April.

People study for the SAT? Anyway, do you suggest doing ONLY full practice tests, or doing a few sections here and there?

^Try a full practice test. I did only sections, and I did really well on them. But on the real thing, my mind got exhausted and turned-off. Probably could have got a much higher score (close to perfect) if I had prepared myself for the mental weariness I’d experienced. And I’m not trying to be arrogant. I got my SAS today, and all my mistakes were in the last three sections.

I have taken multiple standardized tests and usually do not experience this test fatigue. My main concern is if I take a few full-length practice exams, and a few practice sections when I have time, I can do more than if I ONLY do full-length practice exams.

Then do a lot of sections. And maybe the week before take two full-length tests.

If you stick with it, it can really help.

so how many practice exams before the SAT are you going to do? and how many weeks are you guys going to start doing them?

want 2400? im guessing 20-25 exams…atleast. 2300? 15-16…2200? 10-12…2100? 7-8…2000? 3-4…This is assuming you get 1900 on your first one and you actually learn all of your mistakes…and understand the test. It worked for me! (I didnt get 2400 though )

^ 20-25 exams is overkill.

Oh, and I worked 5 months in advance for 2300…but 2 months can equal a 180 point increase. For me a month= 90 point increase w/ like 10 hours a week…

Where are you studying next year? I am taking the SAT ‘abroad’ (in Australia) on Saturday.

ah okay thanks peoples. i don’t think i’ll be doing all that well as i’m so busy for the next couple of months with my own school and the SAT is in 6 weeks, i’ll do a few prac exams, and wish for the best .__.
