Studying International Relations from Community College

Good afternoon everyone!

I’m currently a CC student at North Shore Community College in MA. I’m currently pursing an AA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Political Science. My eventual hope is to transfer to a four year university to get a BA in International Relations or Affairs.

I’m the type of person that really pours himself into research, and as such, I’ve been trying to research the top schools for International Relations. Though of course schools like Georgetown come into mind, I was wondering there were any others that you would recommend for a good education in international relations. I have the opportunity to transfer to any state school in my state and be automatically accepted which I may or may not do. It all depends if a private university seems like it is worth the money in exchange for an exceptional education.

Please, let me know any suggestions you may have!

Thank you

I should note that my GPA is currently at a 4.0, though I’ve taken only basic education classes. This included principles of microeconomics, database theory (I was a CIT major before I switched) Honors Composition 1 and Intro to Tech (another CIT class). For this upcoming semester, I will be taking Principles of Macroeconomics, World History 1, Intro to Statistics, State and Local Gov In America and Intro to International Relations.

I should also let it be known that I have AP credits that transferred from my HS career. This includes AP Psychology, AP American Gov and AP European History.

Two other top schools in IR are Tufts and Johns Hopkins…
