<p>Based on the "Stuff your Professors Say" thread. I'll start.</p>
<p>I'm still in high school, but I've got a funny-ass story.</p>
<p>In AP Calculus AB, my teacher was going over Riemann Sums. Basically, you estimate the area under a curve by splitting it into rectangles. The issue is, where do you draw the rectangles? We were discussing this, and my teacher mentioned that when the rectangles are outside the curve, then we're overestimating the area, and that the rectangles are circumscribed. (Think; what word is this similar to?)</p>
<p>Teacher: "Get your mind out of the gutter! Now, how can we find a better estimate of the area underneath this curve?"</p>
<p>Me: "You snip a little bit off the end."</p>
