OK, so I put in a request to send my transcript at my registrar's office, and I hadn't realized that the registrar needed us to put the schools address. So I went back into the guidance office and grabed a Rice viewbook off the shelf to check the address (I was kind of in a hurry...) and of course that was the physical address and not the mailing address! I didn't realize my mistake until Friday afternoon after the office had already closed... and there's a chance that the registrar already sent off the transcript without double-checking the address I put on the form. I'm going to go in first thing Monday to see if I can change it... but if it's already sent will it still get to the right place?

If you specified the word "admissions" in the address and you sent it to 6100 Main instead of PO Box 1892, it'll get there. Not the end of the world.

See I didn't specify Admissions either... (I was really tired and in a big hurry)

Definitely check with your registrar; sending out transcripts to colleges is one of their major tasks, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they added "Office of Admissions" for you.

Rice has its own postal substation, so the PO Box or street address both end up in the same place (though the street address may arguably take an extra day or two since it doesn't get "automagically" routed via the PO Box's ZIP Code).

If your registrar doesn't remember if s/he added "admissions" to the address, you have a few options:
1. Send another copy; you're submitting really early already, right?
2. Wait at least a week and call the admissions office to confirm they received it.
3. Wait until admissions calls/e-mails/writes you saying they're missing material.

Obviously, I wouldn't consider #3 because you might risk missing a deadline, but I mention it because Rice will let you know (probably via the Web) if your application is incomplete.

Finally... I assume you're starting your senior year. You might plan to send another copy of your transcript toward the end of the 1st semester so it has some of your senior year grades on it.

Thanks wrprice, that all makes sense.
