My son is applying ED. In terms of teacher recommendations, they plan to send them directly to W & M via snail mail. Is this address ok? Should it be directed to a particular person?

College of William and Mary
Admissions Office
P.O. Box 8795
Williamsburg, Va 23187-8795

Or is there a better way? Even his guidance counselor was confused how to do it on the Common Application this year.

I suggest having your son call the Admissions office. They are very helpful.

@vahockey, have your son check with his school to see if they are set up to send documents electronically through Common App. Many schools are and if so, they can send transcripts and recommendations electronically to us. If they are not, which is fine, mailing them directly is also fine. You actually don’t need College of William & Mary in the address (that PO Box belongs exclusively to W&M). You should just make the addressee “Office of Undergraduate Admission” (there are several admission offices on campus) followed by the PO Box and address you mentioned.

Thank you so much! Unfortunately, he is usually working on his application during non-call hours. He gets home after 8 pm from school and leaves at 5:30am and then has races on Saturdays. That leaves only Sundays to really work on it on top of his school work. While he has a good counselor, she is very busy and sometimes hard to get a hold of as the school has nearly 3,000 kids.
