on the Cornell midterm report it asks "Number of academic terms in attendance". Are we supposed to also include this semester? or do they mean how many full semesters finished? thanks!

I put the number of terms that you will have completed once you arrive at Cornell (current term included). I don't think it's that big a deal if you put 1 or 3 instead of 2 or 4

oh ok yeah, that's what I was leaning to. but you're right, i'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference, i just thought i'd ask and see what most people were doing. thanks a lot and good luck!

Are you both applying to engineering? What major?

I'm mech eng, coming in as a junior. Are you applying EEguy? What year? I really doubt I'll get in though, so I'm planning on going back to big midwestern state university. Cornell would be nice though.

EE for junior year; I'm trying to keep my hope to a minimum as well.

CE here (coming in as a junior)... keeping my fingers crossed even as i type. how important do you guys think the midterm report is?

midterm report is hard to say. Depending on your school, the midterm exams are worth virtually nothing, in which case taking them really seriously doesn't always happen. If the midterm is worth a lot, it's an indication of your final grade. I don't know how the differentiate. I think 3rd semester is definitely more important than freshman year, don't know about 4th semester.

It's not all that important; but of course, that doesn't give you an excuse to slack off.

i see... but wait, soccer0407 are there really schools that have midterm exams worth barely anything? that seems kinda odd. ours are worth either 25 or 30 percent of the grade, which i would think is significant. i'm doing very well this semester too so i hope they take it seriously haha!
