Subject Test Score Choice Question/Concern

Just got back scores. Took SAT US History and SAT World History.

Got a 720 on US History, but only got a 350 on SAT World History. Took them both on the same day on June 1st.

Would I be able to send in JUST the Us History exam to colleges and NOT send the World History one? I know some colleges ask for all scores, but is it true that there is an option to send JUST one and not the other?

Yes, some schools have score choice. With score choice schools, you can tick off which scores you want sent to colleges

Yes, collegeboard says that “Score Choice is a score-reporting feature that gives students the option to choose the SAT scores by test date and SAT Subject Test scores by individual test that they send to colleges”
Most schools accept score choice, and only a couple don’t. If they ask for all scores (like Yale, maybe Stanford, etc), then you have to send them all.

Hmm…do those scores make sense to you? When I was young and took some standardized test and got a very low score (like your 350) it turned out that they had scored the test against the wrong key. If you feel that this score is way too low for you - you might inquire about this. Maybe it is impossible these days for them to mess up but you never know!

Whether you can withhold the score from a college depends on its rules. Majority allow you to send whatever tests you want to send. The minority, which require all SATs if you send any SAT, may or may not also require all subject tests.

Ok just to explain, I just wanted to take the WORLD history for the sake of it but I had no idea I would’ve done that badly. I didn’t prepare for it at all though :/

For us history, would that score of 720 and a score of 780 on Math Level 2 be good enough?

But jw, how would a college with a “send all scores” policy KNOW FOR SURE that I sent all my scores…? Like can’t I just pretend that I did even though I didn’t?

bumppppppppp (answer the question above plz!!!)

bump10char answer post #8 anyone?

Husseinrasul, it is correct that a college might not find out that you used Score Choice when they asked you not to, but if the college were to find out, your acceptance offer would be rescinded.
On a different note, I’m curious as to how you got a 350 on the SAT II World Exam. That is an awfully low score, which means that you probably bubbled in the wrong bubble for the test you were taking. Even if you didn’t prepare, you must have only done slightly better than random guessing, and I’m surprised your score wasn’t flagged for inspection.

How would colleges possibly find out though?

And yea probs a bubbling error cuz it prepared a lot for both but what can I do about it now…
