subject test scores

I'm taking some more SAT subject tests in October and I won't see the results until the end of October. And I'm also taking some in November. However, I read on the website that Harvard recommends students submit the common app by Oct 15 so that they can start files on applicants.

Let's say I just submit the application indicating that I'm taking the tests in October and November (without the actual scores), and send the scores as soon as I receive them.
Would the admission people be able to see my scores WITH my application?

It's a very confusing question, sorry, but I'm just worried they will see my application without the scores and might think the application is not impressive enough because I don't have the subject test scores on it.

Harvard no longer requires SAT subject tests. They will accept scores from the October and November dates. How much that hurts your SCEA application is something that none of us anonymous users can answer.

Wait I think Harvard still requires SAT subject tests?! @skieurope

@tesfayeB Nope.

<a href=“SAT IIs No Longer Required for Admission | News | The Harvard Crimson”>http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2014/5/28/sat-subject-test-admissions/

WAIT I am crying rn!! The Lord has answered my prayers @skieurope

That said, I suspect most students will still be submitting, Since I had already taken mine, I’ll be submitting. How much that helps, I have no idea. @tesfayeB

Yeah I am not sure whether or not I will be submitting mine or not. Thanks for the information :slight_smile: @skieurope

@skieurope‌ I had already heard they had decided not to require subject test scores, but thank you for your reply!. I was just asking if it would hurt my chance if I just indicated I would send my scores afterward, because I’m sure everyone will be submitting theirs and I’ll be too. :)

@skieurope‌ @tesfayeB‌ also, I’m pretty sure we’ll have to submit them unless we’re having some sort of financial hardships. If we didn’t submit the subject test scores when we COULD, they’ll hate it. lol That’s just my guess though.

Anyway, Thank you both for replying! :)

No problem! I have some financial hardships but I also have fee-waivers so idk. @peanutbutterlol

Harvard has deadlines and they mean submit whenever you’re ready before the deadline, not before some imaginary secret deadline. Submitting your commonapp early, then submitting your subject test scores would be fine. You report on the commonapp that you’ll be taking the test, then later send a score report. Or, if you’re not ready, don’t submit the commonapp until the deadline for EA or RD, whichever you choose. They’re not flicking through applications tossing ones in the trash without a second glance. Yours will be given the time it deserves, so it doesn’t matter what time and in what order you submit it as long as you meet all official guidelines and requirements. Relax. :)

Also I think it’s worth taking the tests. Only don’t submit if your score is bad.
