hey everybody,
i did much better on my Act(33) than i did on my Sat(1990).
apparently i just suck at the sat...

i will be applying to the school of computer science and i was just wondering if you think i should just submit my act scores and my subject test scores.
(subject test scores arent that good either, 730 on math 2 and 700 on phyics) but i know those are required.
I also know that most students that apply to CMU send their Sat scores. Will it hurt me if i dont send Sat scores or will sending only my Act and subject tests be more beneficial

You asked a slightly similar question in early October…same answer.

Yes-- it’s fine.

The CMU application instructions indicate so.

After reading the CMU application instructions, I believe they require that ALL SAT scores must be submitted. CMU does not allow “score choice”.

You have a choice of sending the ACT or SAT.

But that’s an interesting question as to whether that implies if you took both the ACT and SAT you need to send both? I would interpret the instructions and emphasize the word choice.
They say all scores=meaning if you took the SAT multiple times or the SATII multiple times, then yes, you have to send all of those if you elect to send any of those. This is a question to send to the Admissions staff. I think if you send ACT or send SAT scores, you have to send ALL of them, but NOT both of them.

But agree it’s now unclear, I suppose if you sent SATIIs, it would show that SAT was hidden. Is that acceptable and consistent with instructions showing you have a choice of SAT or ACT-- good question.
(anecdotely-- that’s what S did last year-- only sent ACT and SATII)
Good point.
